Good day, Mr. Liechti! It’s a pleasure to speak with you today about Swissmarmot AG and your vision for the future. First, can you tell us about your personal motivation and background?

Marcel Liechti (ML)

Good day, Ms. Higgins! Thank you for having me. My motivation for founding Swissmarmot AG comes from my deep belief that water is the foundation of all life. With my background in mathematics and my experience as a corporate consultant and author, I have always sought sustainable solutions for global challenges. Water is not just a vital resource but also a precious heritage that we must preserve and protect.

SH: You often emphasize the outstanding quality of Swiss water. What makes your water so special compared to others?

ML: Our water comes from the pristine mountains and valleys of Switzerland, where it undergoes natural filtration over decades. This natural filtration through layers of rock gives our water its unique purity and mineral composition. It is rich in essential minerals like calcium, magnesium, and potassium, which are crucial for health. Every bottle of our water delivers the essence of the Alps, making it one of the purest and highest-quality waters in the world.

SH: You offer four different types of water. Can you tell us more about them and their benefits?

ML: Certainly! Our range includes natural mineral water, spring water, medicinal water, and table water. Natural mineral water is rich in minerals and ideal for a healthy diet. Spring water is exceptionally pure and low in sodium, making it perfect for those who need a low-sodium diet. Medicinal water has healing properties and can aid in various health conditions. Table water is for daily use, providing an optimal balance of minerals to keep the body hydrated. Each type has unique chemical properties and benefits that contribute to overall health and well-being.

SH: Your subsidiary Hi-Rice has developed an innovative method for rice production. Can you tell us more about that?

ML: With Hi-Rice, we grow rice without flooding using our premium water. This innovative method allows us to harvest three times a year while using only a tenth of the usual water. This method is not only sustainable but also efficient, maximizing yields while conserving water. Our goal is to revolutionize agriculture and make a positive contribution to global food security.

SH: You offer active entrepreneurs from around the world the opportunity to establish a professional water beverage service in their country with territorial guarantees. Can you elaborate on this?

ML: Yes, we do. At Swissmarmot, we seek dedicated entrepreneurs who share our vision and want to establish a high-quality water beverage service in their country. We offer territorial guarantees to ensure exclusivity in their area. These partnerships are based on trust and the shared goal of making our premium Swiss water available worldwide. We provide comprehensive support to ensure that our standards are met and customers are satisfied.

SH: Many parents are interested in ensuring their children have access to pure water and guaranteeing students in their schools have access as well. How do you support this initiative?

ML: This is a crucial issue. We work closely with schools and educational institutions to ensure students have access to clean and healthy water. We offer special programs and partnerships to supply water to schools and educate students on the importance of staying hydrated. Our goal is to positively impact children's health and well-being by providing them with the best possible water.

SH: Let's move on to the critical questions. There are concerns about the environmental impact of bottling and transporting water over long distances. How do you address these concerns?

ML: That is a valid concern. We are committed to minimizing our environmental footprint. Our bottling plants are energy-efficient, and we use eco-friendly packaging. We also optimize our transportation routes to reduce CO2 emissions. We believe that providing access to pure and healthy water is essential, and we strive to do this in the most sustainable way possible.

SH: Another critical point is pricing. Many people cannot afford premium water products. What are you doing to ensure that less affluent individuals have access to healthy water?

ML: Our premium water is priced according to its high quality and the intricate production processes. However, we strive to offer fair prices and are working on ways to make our products more affordable. We also invest in social projects and initiatives to improve access to clean water in needy regions. It is our mission to ensure that everyone has access to healthy and clean water, and we are actively working towards this goal.

SH: Mr. Liechti, thank you for this inspiring and insightful conversation. Is there anything else you would like to share with our readers?

ML: Thank you, Ms. Higgins. I would like to emphasize the importance of valuing and preserving water as a precious resource. It is not only a vital life source but also a heritage that we must protect for future generations. Let's work together to ensure that everyone has access to clean and healthy water. Water is life, water is health, and water is our heritage. Thank you!
